What is a chromatic tuner?
A chromatic tuner detects all 12 notes of the musical scale (C, C#, D, D#, etc.), allowing you to tune any instrument to any pitch, unlike a standard guitar tuner which only detects specific notes.
Can I tune any instrument with this?
Yes! Because it detects the exact frequency of any sound, you can use it to tune guitars, violins, pianos, brass instruments, and even practice your vocal pitch.
What does 'cents' mean in tuning?
A 'cent' is a unit of pitch equal to 1/100th of a semitone. It allows for extremely precise tuning measurement. When the tuner says 0 cents, you are perfectly in tune.
Why is the needle jumping around?
Background noise or complex overtones can confuse the pitch detector. Try to play the note clearly in a quiet room, and let it ring out without vibrato.
