The waveform selector lets you switch between four classic wave shapes — sine, square, triangle, and sawtooth — each with its own sonic character. Sine is the cleanest; sawtooth is the most harmonically rich.
The ADSR envelope gives you control over the shape of the tone over time. Attack sets how fast the sound ramps up, Decay brings it down to the Sustain level, and Release determines how long it fades when you stop. Short attack and release settings produce a sharp, staccato click; longer values create a smooth, evolving swell — great for chord practice or meditation drones.

What does the ADSR envelope do?
ADSR stands for Attack, Decay, Sustain, and Release — four parameters that shape how a tone starts and ends. Attack controls how quickly the tone reaches full volume; Decay brings it down to the Sustain level; Release determines how long the tone fades out after you stop it. Together they let you go from a sharp, punchy blip to a slow, airy swell.
What is the difference between sine, square, triangle, and sawtooth waveforms?
Each waveform has a distinct character. A sine wave is smooth and pure — ideal for reference tones. A square wave sounds hollow and buzzy, like a classic game console. A triangle wave sits between the two: softer than square but brighter than sine. A sawtooth wave is the harshest of the four, with a bright, cutting edge used widely in synthesisers.
